Homo habilis...Homo erectus....Neanderthals and Cromagnons...and finally Homo sapiens sapiens...so well, it was a long long time ago that the Apes and Us had any kind of connection...
Yet, the first thought which crossed your mind when you saw the story image must be close to Monkeys...
Our ancesters might look like them..
But that is simply because of the early connections in the course of evolution..
We've come a long way after that...
Millions of years..
So, don't think of the monkeys as your ancesters...these creatures are simply the closest species with respect to genetic constitution...
