THE UNFORTUNATE Season 01 Episode 02
Lizzie, full of tears begun to pack her things. I literally had nothing to pack. All I did was take off my apron. She was there looking at me, devastated and confused at the same time. Stacy was an orphan and has always lived alone in her apartment. She knew no one she could put her head on the shoulder and cry. She took a taxi, didn't even say goodbye then left. As for me, I trekked my way home.I sat in my single room full of thoughts. I tried to join dots to get to know the reason for the suspension but I just couldn't. I even tried making calls to friends in the company to try and find out what the problem could be but it was all in vain.

It was the seventh day since my suspension and it was the day to understand the reason for it. I woke up that day, having slept for just an hour since I couldn't sleep during the better part of the night. I had almost nothing in my pocket at that time. One hundred shillings is all I had from my savings. The only way I could access my e-mail was either by going to a cyber cafe in town or going to Lizzie's place. Going to a cyber cafe would cost me upto seventy shillings, an amuont that was enough for two meals daily for the next two days. I had been suspended from work and there were only two things I expected from the email: either being fired or getting back to work. I didn't want to take any chances, I made up my mind to go to Lizzie's place.
I decided to first call her before going to her place.

"Hello Lizzie, I..." the call was cut off before I could even finish, I had run out of airtime. Normally she would call back incase such happened. This time, she never called back, neither did she even send a message. I had to check on her. She lived almost 10km away. I took my first step, the second one, third one and many other more and, very exhausted and thirsty, I got to her apartment. My first knock on the door was not answered, the second, third upto the ninth were getting to deaf ears too. I went to the backyard, to her bedroom's window tried to knock and this time I got the response I needed.
