DEAR SOCIETY
Dear society,

Your thoughts are short.
They are shorter than the dress
That reaches to her thighs
You would never judge her,
Based on that otherwise.

I'm too young to say this you might say. You might try to suppress my opinion one more time. But I came with a little more confidence to stand on my opinion this time. I won't let you snatch away my right to speak out anyway.

We aren't actually weak. Your way of hyping patriarchy and misogyny and your propagandas regarding the weaknesses of women, are conditioning us to feel so.

Just because we are women,
You can neither allocate things for us to do.
Nor can you restrict us from our choices,
Because we also are humans,
We have feelings too.

I am saying this, not only on my behalf. It's also for my daughters in the future because I don't want them to suffer because of you.
It's because I want to keep them away from your taboos. I don't want my daughter to be an heir to my problems. I'm saying this also for my son. As I never wish to have a son who's thoughts are driven by patriarchy and misogyny. I never do.

You embrace us in the poems that are never practical. You say you empower us. But for your kind information, empowerment of women would make no sense, until the chains of your thoughts tie us. You have always been given enough clarifications. So be fair enough to tell me something today. What about your lads who make us feel insecure? Do you tell them to be on their limits just the way you give paragraphs of lectures to your daughters before they go out?

We have begged you enough to respect us for our gender and you never heard us. But what if we beg to be respected for being humans? Would that be too much to ask for?

A girl, tired of your taboos.
