A Mysterious Dream
It was December. Naturally a celebratory mood marked the ambience. And it was your birthday. Since I happened to be around, I decided to attend uninvited. If that doesn't sound rational then it is worth bearing in mind that the most rational part of our brain (prefrontal cortex) is sort of deactivated when we dream.

It seemed to be the happiest place on earth. When I entered, I didn't find you. But those I found were all on a cloud nine. They were all talking about you. For a moment it seemed like we were all living in an illusion until now. As if all perils and sufferings of life were the result of psychotropic drugs. They seemingly existed only in our heads, devoid of external stimuli.

Eventually I saw you there. I was like Moses trembling with reverent fear. I musterd up the courage to go ahead. I presented you with a gift. But you looked at me in utter puzzlement. You did not recognise me. I tried again and yet you didn't. I tried again and again. I referenced Shakespeare and Freud (though not sure why I did). Still my repeated attempts made no difference whatsoever. The reaction of onlookers was epic. They grew suspicious as if some terrorist infiltration occurred before their eyes.

Finally you said you knew me. And I felt like Lazarus who was brought back to life. I was enjoying a drink (I am a teetotaler in wakeful hours) at a corner. And you whispered to me that you had no idea about me. And that means you actually didn't recognise me. The dream concluded on a mysterious note.
