• Let us initiate to know about the first character of my story : Catherine…… Catherine was a spinster at the age of 30. She had elder brother and sister both married and settled. Catherine was staying with her parents along with brother, sister in law and a nephew of 7 years old. She was little over weight, which made her pessimistic and a reserved kind of a girl. All her friends were married, few with kids too. Due to her XXL size usually boys and their families used to consider her inadequate, when they used to come to see her with marriage proposal. How wonderful perfect size, perfect figure to bear a child, perfect homemaker, perfect caretaker etc. is expected from a woman and if she fails in any of these categories then she is not worthy. Leaving apart her outer appearance, Catherin was a beautiful soul, kind hearted and God fearing woman. She was a praying women and believed that right things will happen at its appointed time. Although she was tired answering to the preachy aunties of the society and relatives, who had only one question to ask her. When are you getting married as you are already 30 going on 31 ? She was also astonished by the comments of few of these preachy aunties that she wont bear a child she is over weight… Who has given these people right to judge her and even jump on conclusions.? Total sarcasm of typical stereotype people who think they have copyright of judging everyone. Catherine was a Teacher by profession and gelled very well with the kids. She was earning a wholesome too.. She was M.Sc., M. ED and had received the Best Teacher award for her excellent contribution towards slow learners and special children through her research. She used to visit every month to an orphanage age and denoted an amount and spend time with those kids, which used to make her feel fortunate and forget about her worries as these children were facing many challenges which were nothing in front of her worry. She was a good cook too. Her cooking skills were appreciated by her family on Sundays as every Sunday she had decided to cook for family, rest days were managed by her mother and sister in law. She was quite mature and disciplined, she exercised every day but she was very gourmet which added to her weight. She to deserves a partner to share her life and make her feel as the most beautiful woman. She was a good poet, credit to teaching profession as usually teachers can write good poems of course no offence to any other profession.. One of her best poem is quoted below : In the darkest room of my heart, I could see a ray of hope beamed. As I felt the right man arrived out of my dreams. His eyes were full of love and grace, not judging my outer being, piercing straight into my soul and touching my heart till the core. His words had magic and charm, which made me feel like a queen. My entire being was delightful and calm. Soon I heard the alarm ring and found out it was just another dream…….. Catherine’s wrestle will come to an end at its appointed time as she needs those sparkling eyes who would see her inner beauty than her outer being and except the way she is making her feel like an real queen …..
