The Wolf (Chapter 4)
Her thoughts were a bit muffled as she heard him say, "Mate." "It can't be me. I don't feel a bond or anything." She thought to herself. She met his eyes again and realised he was looking behind her shoulder. Sirena turned around and saw Nora frozen in place as she was about to help Sirena up. She looked back at the male and back to Nora. They both were staring at each other. She felt a bit uncomfortable as they seemed to not realize she was on the floor still. Taking her eyes off them, she quickly got up and picked her clothes up and proceeded to the bathroom leaving the two wolves to get acquainted. After she emerged from the bathroom, wearing a short sleeve and sweatpants, she looked around for the pair. Her sea blue eyes scanned around her but she didn't see them. Her eyes landed on the rest of her pack. William, Cara, and Jason were standing near the fountain where she had fallen. William was flirting with a fair-skinned brunette with yellow eyes. Whatever he was saying to her, she was soaking it up like the afternoon sun. Cara and Jason were trying to figure out who was the best runner in a 4 mile race. She smiled at their weird conversations. She headed to class and sat down in her seat waiting for lunch. After sitting through four boring classes with a growling stomach, Sirena walked into the cafeteria. As alpha, the other wolves ate after Sirena chose her lunch which was weird since this was supposed to be something that happened in her wolf form. She didn't mind since she always could eat without having to worry about running out of food. Her eyes scanned the table where she usually sat, and she saw she was the first one there. "Weird," she thought to herself as she sat down, "Nora is usually always here before I am." With her stomach growling she picked up her cheese pizza and was about to take a bite when her instincts sharpened. Turning around slowly, she could see Nora and the purple-eyed male walking toward her table holding hands. Nora looked at her with a smile and spoke, "Sirena, I would like to introduce you to Noah, my mate." The purple-eyed male apparently named Noah looked at her for a second. "Sorry I bumped into you earlier, I was following Nora's scent and I didn't notice you were right there." She waved his apology away, "It's fine. I should have looked at where I was going." All around her, the other wolves were watching the exchange. Some of the other alphas a bit older then her, were muttering to their own pack members. "Great. More gossip then there already is." She thought with a huff. "Well nice to meet you Noah. I'm Sirena." He took her hand and kissed the top. "Pleased to meet you alpha. I am honored to be apart of your pack with my mate." Sirena held in the urge to roll her eyes at the formal introduction of a new pack member. Forgetting her pizza, she got up and walked out of the cafeteria. The last thing she heard was Nora whispering to Noah, "Give her time. She's still adjusting to her alpha role." Sirena walked out of the school and towards the garden. She shifted and turned her muzzle toward the afternoon sky. "Why does everything have to be so formal?" She asked herself. She didn't care if the teacher saw her in her wolf form. They already knew not to mess with her since her father was the leading alpha of all the packs. The brightness of the sky made her eyes glisten, showing off the bits of green in her eyes. Her stomach growled so she decided to go hunt. Her nose lifted to catch the scents off the breeze. Rabbit, mouse, deer, and crow. Her hunger wasn't enough to eat a whole deer so she decided on the rabbit. She followed the scent down to the very edge of the forest near the school and crept forward. Her ears perked as she heard its small feet. All of a sudden, she realized she wasn't alone. Her nose told her there was another wolf nearby. Her eyes looked over and the rabbit she was hunting hopped away as she startled it but she didn't care. Her ears twitched to the right as she heard rustling in the bushes. She turned and saw a shadow loom over her.
