Lost Childhood 11
Emily played patiently on the playground with the other children waiting for Sara to pick her up. She was never late but today she had called the office letting them know she was running a little behind on errands but would be there soon. One of her finals took more time than she thought it would; she wanted to make sure she got the best grade possible so she concentrated and took she time. She looked up at the clock in the classroom and realized she had taken more time than she thought. She finished what she was doing and quickly closed the test booklet and handed it to the instructor. She then ran to her car and phoned the school to inform them hoping she wasn’t going to be too late.

Sara finally made it to Emily’s school unfortunately she was the only child left. There had been an accident on the way there that had traffic backed up for miles. She apologized to Emily and took her to get ice cream to make up for. Emily really didn’t mind she liked Sara, she thought she was cool; this meant that she got to spend more time with her. While Emily finished her ice cream Sara checked her social media and enjoyed her horchata. By the time they had finished it was time to go home so she could help Emily with her homework and do a little studying of her own.
The traffic was much lighter this time of day and the accident was all cleared up.

Sara liked Emily because she reminded her of her cousin. Because of working- if you could really call it that - and her studies she didn’t get to spend as much time with Martina as she would have liked. Summer was coming soon and things would change; Emily and Martina would be spending more time together and hanging out with Sara. No school meant no homework and a lot more sleepovers and playtime! For Sara it meant getting in some more hours at the hospital; the quicker she completed her internship the sooner she could begin the career of her dreams. Accomplishing her first dream would be to complete her residency at the same hospital as she is doing her internship. She wound just have to wait to see how many positions would be available.
