My Son Taught Me...
I share this story almost to everyone who cares to listen.

I was with my Son at home, and that day was just one of them days, after running around on so much, I was thirsty.

But because I was tired, and the only human I have around me was this little 4years old boy, busy with his games, I found myself thinking loud and I said, "If only you were bit older, you could bring me some drinking water"

He for a minute stopped doing whatever he was doing, looked at me and said.. "Yeah, now I can not help you with water because you just said I am not older enough to bring you water"

His response threw me in a Oh Wow! Mode and what came to my mind was, Sorry man, but again, how old are you again!? "

Long story short, this taught me one simple but powerful lesson.

We sometimes go through life with our eyes looking what we see and interpret it the way we think we see it, yet there is more to it.

All I saw was a little person who couldn't help me with anything much less water.. And I even said it loud.

Yet after apologizing this very little human went and bring me water.

How many times do we capitalize on the shortness of those around us and forget who truly they are and their strengths?

How many times we magnify how one can not do this and that and forget their own little willingness and efforts?

How many times we not only think low of people around us but we also say it to them to push them down lower than they already are?

How many times do we say bad things so loud to those we love instead of encouraging them and giving them a chance to see their abilities and not their shortness?

We often times over look those around us and still ask God to give us help from else where, yet help is right under our noses if only we choose to see these people right!

I was wishing for help to show up from else where, yet my little Son was right there and so ready and willing to help me even at the expense of him using a long chair to just make sure mama gets water and is comfortable

We all have someone around us, if not in physical then just a click or button away, our phones are full of family contacts, friends and neighbors, colleagues and the alike... But what are we doing with all these contacts?

How do we reach out to them? Do we empower them and help them see the beauty in life?

Or do we call or text them to make life hard for them?

Do we see them as helpers and people who truly loves us and ready to do extra for us? Like my Son was ready..

Or do we see them as little and people with nothing to offer us and long for other people from else where to come and save us?

Look around you, who is there? They may not be able to do what you want them to do, but believe you me, until you reach out to them, you won't know how much they can do for you.

Start with those around you and change how you see them, then see how the World changes for you.

All the best as you start appreciating the least. Its never too late. And even if its late, better late than never, start today!
