The availability of friendship is not the validity of friends. Friendship has many children. In friendship, you can be a child, servant or just a friend (John 15:15). But God wants you to be His best friend. He doesn't want you to just be His friend; He wants you to be His best friend.

If you want to be God's best friend one of the things you have to know is to distinguish friendship from best friendship. You can be in friendship with someone, without necessarily being their best friend. You can be in friendship with God without being His best friend.

But the infinite and greatest desire of God is for us to be His best friends. It's not enough to be in friendship with God; it's important to be His best friend. David was God's best friend. Abraham was God's best friend. You can also be God's best friend.

Just have the consciousness and consistent desire of being God's best friend. You don't have to wish for it; just be real and come as you are. Walk with Him. Look for Him. Wake up every morning thinking and looking for God. It shows how deep you want to be His best friend.
