The Prison
A darkish hue, walls painted a deep grey like that of Chikurubhi Prison. I was lost inside of what was considered a safe haven, but in my case, I felt suffocated and needed an escape. I perceived it as more of a prison than a military encapsulation. They promised that we would be sent out on missions soon, but I didn’t want to have to return to that place often. I wanted to be free. So, I made the one decision that anyone who values their sanity would - I decided to flee.

I picked a friend who felt the same and off into the valley we fled. We rode for miles, going deeper into the depression and never seeming to reach any peaks. It was then that my buddy and I got separated; he drove on ahead as I walked behind, thinking.

Suddenly, I saw three people walking by - two parents and a daughter. Taking a liking to the daughter who was fairer than her fair mother, without warning, I picked her up and ran away with her in my arms.

She laughed, gently whispering in my ear as I walked away with her. She said her name was Tamia and fittingly so. She was as gracious as she sounded. I took her with me, making sure to never take my eye off of her. We reached a hill in the middle of the valley. There, my friend was waiting just beneath the hill, gathering supplies for our travels. I looked to the horizon and saw that the valley was surrounded by mountains. We had to go up the mountains to leave the valley. There was only one clear path, but it was narrow and there was no telling where it led. I was prepared to tackle the mountains. So I started to help my companion in gathering supplies so that he, I and she could begin our journey towards freedom.

We started our journey, taking the narrow road up the mountains. We had to be careful, as the path was treacherous and we could easily slip and fall. As we climbed higher and higher, I could feel Tamia's hand in mine, reassuring me that everything would be alright. We eventually reached the top of the mountain and were able to see a beautiful view of the valley below us. We had made it! We had escaped from the valley and were now free to explore the world beyond..We continued our journey, exploring new places and meeting new people. Everywhere we went, Tamia's grace and beauty shone through. She was a true inspiration to me and I will never forget her..
