People, no matter how long you have known them, no matter how close you guys grew to one another, will still leave here and there.

Fair weather friends are extremely common, and friends that stay are extremely rare.

You never know how long a friend or partner will stay, so don't be surprised when one leaves.

Let it hurt, you should never ignore pain. But then help yourself heal and move on.

Whatever rude things they may say about you do not define you. They're just lying to cover up their own pain and to make themselves feel better.

No matter who hurts you, don't take for granted the friends that do stay, because there always will be at least a couple who will. It's not about quantity, it's about quality. No matter what, you're never alone.

You're strong and have a lot of good qualities. Don't dwell over past pain, because that won't get you anywhere. It will just leave you sitting in your own muck. Instead, get up, look at the past, acknowledge the parts where you have grown since then, and keep going. And, the good friends you DO have will help you grow and will grow alongside you, like a partner in a journey.
