( Where the Flowers Bloom ) # 2
Izzy -
My mother stood over near the meat, while I stood next to the bathrooms. I haven't seen her since I was kicked out by my father, because I'm pregnant, and I am only a month away from having this baby.
I waited for her to move, but she didn't, she just stood there. Finally she turned, and that's when I walked fast to my cart and I whipped it around.
Mom -
I looked over my shoulder a bit, Izzy was running quickly to an isle. I was curious, did she see me? Did she notice me being unhappy because this was our time together?
Izzy -
I strolled with the cart down the isle. As long as I stayed out of the side where all the food is, I'm pretty sure she won't come over here, near the baby isle.
Mom -
I followed behind her, she smiled a little as she grabbed two little shoes.
Izzy -
"Go alone he says," I rolled my eyes, "I go alone, and find so much stuff, and he never is there," I slowly grabbed a small blanket, "that's okay, it doesn't matter to me."
Mom -
Hearing her talk, really made me smile.
Izzy -
I put the small blanket in the cart. "Maybe daddy will come next time..." I whispered.
Mom -
I sadly looked down a bit, her tummy wasn't showing, I don't even know when she's due.
Izzy -
"Right..." this woman looked at me strangely, "talking to myself..." I sighed. Nothing has changed. I'm the same as I was before I got knocked up. "Just one more month," I put the blanket back on the shelf.
Mom -
A month!? Has that much time really went by!?
Izzy -
I yawned a little. "Your not a boy, that's for sure," I smiled and grabbed a pink blanket.
Mom -
Oh...that's why she put it back.
Izzy -
Slowly I started walking. I got to a cradle area, "wow..." I looked at the prices. I chuckled a little. The thought of West popping up into my head, made me giggle, and soon I was crying while laughing. West told me he could build a cradle, after he said that, his hammer he had in his hand, hit the side of the one he was building, and the things fell apart as if it was glued.
Mom -
Izzy never giggled, or laughed when she was at home, she was so... miserable now that I think about it.
Izzy -
"You were no mistake," that night when I got drunk, I knew what I wanted, but, did I expect West to rape me unconscious, not really...but I still love him...the quarter back and the nerd.
Mom -
What does she mean, no mistake!?
Izzy -
I felt someone standing behind me, so I moved, because I thought maybe they'd want to look at something. Instead, the person walked away.
Mom -
I went around the shelfing so that she couldn't see me.
Izzy -
I felt more kicks than I did the other night. "Okay, okay, please stop kicking mommy's tummy?" I felt like I was going to be sick again.
Mom -
Izzy grabbed her purse and slowly left the cart where it was. I hid when she came back. Another bathroom break.
Izzy -
"Just about done," I smiled as I placed my hand on the cart. "Okay...now, I think is the best time to sneek out of this isle."
Mom -
Is she trying to avoid me?
Izzy -
I slowly managed to turn the corner, I sighed in relief that she wasn't there.
Mom -
I smirked a little.
Izzy -
I about had a heart attack, she came out in front of me, and just walked by! She didn't look at me though...she's playing with me! She used to do that when I was little, I'd hide from her, and she'd pretend I wasn't there, and then...she'd...find me. That's what she did, she came up behind me, and hugged me.
Mom -
"Izzy," I smiled big, and I kissed her cheek. "Your father wouldn't let me see you," I whispered, and rest my forehead on her shoulder. "I want you in my life, it would be different if your father were the one that birthed you, but he wasn't."
Izzy -
I was completely shocked.
Mom -
"I love you Izzy," I hugged her more, "and I don't care if your pregnant or not, as long as your happy, that's all I can think about."
Izzy -
"Mom..." My voice shook.
Mom -
"Now, will you shop with me?" Izzy sighed, then nodded a little. I smiled big. We went on my shopping role, Izzy smiled when I wasn't looking, I know she did, because I caught her smiling. She enjoys seeing me, just as much as I enjoy seeing her.
Izzy -
We slowly walked through baby stuff, I was so embarrassed though, mom kept picking things up, and handing them to me.
Mom -
"Your going to need these."
Izzy -
"Ma..." She stopped and looked at me. "Me and West...so far...have everything planned..." I looking down at the poor cart, getting heavier by the moment. "Well, okay, not really, but, me and West are getting married, and...I need to keep some of my money, so that I can be more responsible."
Mom -
"Honey, I never said you had to pay for it," her eyes widened.
Izzy -
"Mom, it's too expensive," I complained, but she placed her hand up.
Mom -
"No more," I smiled at her. "I want to do something for my little girl."
Izzy -
"Mom, I'm pregnant, not a little girl, so,...
