The Midnight Pursuit
Chapter 1: The Warning in the Night

The car sped through the dark night, its headlights flashing, warning the incoming traffic. Jason Cole tightened his grip on the steering wheel, his jaw clenched as he weaved through the narrow road. Beside him sat Anna, holding a small metal briefcase close to her chest.

“Do you think we’ll make it?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

“We don’t have a choice,” Jason replied. “If we stop, they’ll catch us.”

The forest grew thicker, the road narrower. The SUV followed, its headlights cutting through the darkness like predatory eyes.

“They won’t stop,” Anna said, panic creeping into her voice.

Jason’s eyes darted to the rearview mirror. “Then neither will we.”

Chapter 3: The Forest Trap

As the chase continued, Jason spotted an old, dilapidated cabin hidden among the trees. A plan began to form in his mind.

“Hold on,” he said, turning sharply off the road and heading toward the cabin.

The car skidded to a halt in front of the structure. Jason and Anna jumped out, grabbing the briefcase and a small duffel bag from the trunk.

“We can’t stay here long,” Jason said, ushering Anna inside.

The cabin was dark and musty, with cobwebs...
