Pick your Poison-Chapter 34: U promised no more secrets
Chapter 34: U promised no more secrets
Ziesha
"No Caleb! I said give me the stupid remote!" Ziesha stretched across the giant sofa to reach Caleb's hand. "Babe, babe! The game is almost over...see, we already in overtime."
She winced at the term 'overtime.' Incase Caleb didn't know, he was not physically at the stadium. We? What the hell! Still not giving up, she tried again. "The stupid game will go on to penalties. You can find out from the news who won. The movie is gonna start now and you promised to watch it with me!"
"Yeah I know but Zie," Caleb said, his eyes glued to the flat screen ahead of him, "Alright, I got a plan. How about you go up to our room and start the movie from there. I'll catch up with as soon as the score's settled."
Ziesha breathed heavily. Wow! What a smart idea. She'd go alone to their room to watch a romantic comedy. Some brains her boyfriend owned. Switching to plan b, she moved far, far away from Caleb with a pulled face and played with the pillow frills. Caleb didn't budge for about ten seconds and then-
"Aahh! You are the most annoying person I've ever met Ziesha!" She couldn't agree more. When she didn't reply, Caleb slid over to her side. He handed her the remote. "Let's watch the movie babe."
Face still pulled, she roughly grabbed the remote from him and switched the channels. "Now how about thank you Caleb, I love you?"
For answer, Ziesha shoved a middle finger at his face to prove how factual his accusations towards her were. "Oh you wanna play like that now huh?" He pushed her down on the sofa and got her back at her most ticklish spot.
"Caleb, stop! Please! It's torture!" she laughed until tears came out. Caleb pulled her up and kissed her forehead. "I hate that I love you Ziesha." "Agreed," she was still laughing, "And look, you made me miss half the movie!"
"Love, I don't think that ten minutes is half the movie," he rested his arm over her shoulders, pulling her closer. "Whatever, I changed my mind. Let's watch this." Ditching the romance for a horror, Ziesha actually managed to stay put for the entire duration of the movie. Maybe because it was scary as shit and there was no way that she'd walk around the house without Caleb beside her. Plus, the sun wasn't out today so it darkened outside much quicker.
"Caleb?" Ziesha shook him. "Hhmm." "Please turn on the lights."
Caleb cracked up in laughter. "Don't tell me that that movie scared you." Now he'd mock her. "It didn't," Ziesha defended herself, "You know that I hate the dark and I only watched that stupid movie cause of you. We all know Caleb hates lovey dovey movies."
"Say what you want baby but I know the truth." He left her alone for some time, after turning on all the lights. Ziesha checked the time, just past six in the evening. She taught of all the things she had to do before bed-shower, fix them something to eat, clean up after.
But nonetheless, Ziesha had been in heaven for the past few days. Happy. In peace. With Caleb always right next to her. Their relationship had reached its perfection level and she didn't think it could get better than this. The bump on her head was healing, Caleb wasn't hiding anything from her. It was just perfect, felt almost magical.
But just one thing was missing: dad. Ziesha missed her old man like crazy; Meera too. But according to Caleb, they were all fine. Nothing to worry about.
So she'd just found out that her sister was with Dino in Johannesburg, in this old, abandoned flat. Poor Mia. Her heart literally goes out to her. She could only imagine what her sister might be going through. Unlike Caleb, they all knew that Dino wouldn't put in...
