🦇Due to some of its peculiarities
the bat has inspired many legends, and is still considered by many to be a dangerous and dark animal.
🦇But how much truth is there in these popular beliefs?
We can understand this by analyzing
some features.
🦇Usually bats spend the daytime hours hanging upside down in dark caves or uninhabited buildings, then at dusk they come out to hunt for food during the night hours.
When they live in herds, the place gives off a repellent murine odor, and in certain caves the accumulation of their guano
(excrement), has formed layers of considerable thickness.
🦇There are various qualities of bats, and the majority feed on insects or fruit.
Except for one species in particular that can bite (tropical and subtropical areas of America),
bats in general are not dangerous.
Some of us serve a useful purpose and help control the insect population.
Others unintentionally transmit pollen from one flower to another.
And then, bat manure, or guano, abundant at the bottom...
