REX THE LAST ALTRON SEASON 1 CHAPTER 9: GREEN OR PINK?
NEXT MORNING 6:30
Mallory comes to Jax's room and finds Rex on Jax's bed (the lower bunk).
MALLORY: Oh thank God you're already awake.
REX: Any problem?
MALLORY: Not really, actually I wanted to ask if you would mind staying with us fully from now onwards.
REX: (Surprised) Are you serious?
MALLORY: Yes!
REX: ...I.....I don't know what to say, I mean it's barely three days I came into your house.
MALLORY: It doesn't take time knowing if a person is compatible or not, it's just a matter of first impression.
REX: I'll stay.
MALLORY: sure?
REX: Yeah.
MALLORY: (Grins) Ok, thank you for agreeing to stay (Hugs him) Prepare your self today might be tiring.
REX: K.
Mallory enters her room looking happy...

MALLORY: He accepted
DAVE: Seriously?
MALLORY: (Grining) Yes!
DAVE: You're becoming fond of him already.
MALLORY: Yeah, any problem?
DAVE: Nothing, just noticed your Grinning. I should go prepare then.
7:30 AM

(Mallory is having a video call with Jax and Bridgette)

MALLORY: How was your night?
BRIGETTE: Awesome!
JAX: Cool! Yours?
MALLORY: Good enough I guess.
BRIDGETTE: How's dad?
MALLORY: Your dad is fine, we'll be going to the hospital today.
BRIDGETTE: Is he alright?
MALLORY: Yeah, actually it's Rex. We're going to get him an artificial lens 'cause we're thinking of enrolling him into high school.
BRIDGETTE & JAX: Cool!
JAX: He should go for a green lens
BRIGETTE: No! Pink would do.
JAX: That's awkward!
MALLORY: Absolutely! He'll look like a girly boy
JAX: (Laughs)
BRIDGETTE: Whatever! Would you guys stop picking on me already?
JAX: (Still laughing) It's funny!
MALLORY: I'll hang up now... I have to go to work.
BRIDGETTE: Bye Mom!
JAX: Love you!
MALLORY: Bye lovelies! I love you too.
AT THE HOSPITAL
As they entered, the presence of Rex caused a stare. Since they haven't seen such eyes before, they thought he was a zombie at first but not until they saw him with Mallory.
LISA: Good morning Doctor Mallory.
MALLORY: Good morning Nurse Lisa... Is doctor Michael on sit now?
LISA: Yes doctor Mallory, he came 30 minutes ago and he's attending to someone now but I think he should be rounding up.
MALLORY: Good. Book me an appointment immediately.
LISA: Yes Doctor Mallory.
MALLORY: (To Dave and Rex) You guys sit here and wait for me.
REX: Ok. (she walks into her office)

10 MINUTES LATER

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
DR. MICHAEL: Come in!
MALLORY: Morning Doctor Michael! (Stretches her hand for a handshake)
MICHAEL: Morning Doctor Mallory... (Returns the handshake and then to Rex)
MALLORY: We are here to get contact lenses for Rex's eyes.
MICHAEL: I see... (Looks at Rex) He has blind white pupils, let me show you something. (To Rex) Come with me.

He makes Rex lie down facing upwards, then a glass helmet-like material covers only his face.

MICHAEL: Rex look intently at those rays penetrating your eyes. (He moves to a small screen). Look at this image Doctor Mallory and you'll see the blind white pupils on the two eye balls.
MALLORY: I see it...
MICHEAL: Those are his pupils, they are actually blind white! (He walks up to Rex, presses a button on the glass material and it goes up). You two follow me.

They moved to another room where eye glasses and lens for different purposes and ages were kept.

MICHAEL: Uhm... Rex, which colour of contact lens would you prefer?
REX: (looks at the collections of contact lenses) I think I'll go for the silver colored one.
MICHAEL: Ok... (He picks a small casing containing the silver contact lens Rex asked for and moves to a bed) Come here.
Rex lies on the bed with his eyes opened wide. The doctor opens the case, picks up each lens and carefully places them in Rex's eyes.
MICHAEL: Blink repeatedly... (Rex does as he is asked) You are good to go.
MALLORY: Thank you doctor Michael (gives him a handshake)
MICHAEL: (smiles) You're welcome, always at your service.

They walked out of the office and soon they spotted Dave who stood up as soon as he saw them.

DAVE: (Hugs her) How did it go?
MALLORY: Well, the doctor said his original pupils were actually blind white so we got him a less... Creepy one. Check it.
DAVE: (Whispers) He looks even better and More like a human now. (To Rex) Nice contact lenses you've got!
REX: Thanks, it's going to be disappointing though to Bridgette and Jax that I didn't get to pick any of their suggested colors.
MALLORY: Yeah, but it's nothing it is your choice after all.
REX: Yeah...

They walked out of the hospital...

MALLORY: Rex,
REX: yes?
MALLORY: Before we move from here your decision decides where we go from now.
REX: Ok.
MALLORY: I was thinking we should enroll you into high school. (Rex's face was expressionless)
DAVE: What do think about the idea?
REX: Not bad, is cool!
MALLORY: Is that a yes?
DAVE: I think...
(Both looks at Rex)
REX: (Smirks) Yes.
MALLORY: (Smiles) Good! Get in the car.

(They drove out of the hospital)

2 HOURS LATER

SALTSMAN HIGHSCHOOL

They arrived at the school's car Park where they pulled up.
They strolled down to the school's building which was hundred meters from the car Park.

RECEPTION HALL

RECEPTIONIST: Good morning Mr and Mrs Seville, how may I help you?
DAVE: We'll like to see the principal.
RECEPTIONIST: Ok wait here I'll be back.
(She leaves and returns 5 minutes later)
You may go in.

PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

PRINCIPAL: Come in! (Door opens)
DAVE: Morning Principal Trager...(handshake)
PRINCIPAL: Morning Mr and Mrs Seville.
DAVE: How's work?
PRINCIPAL: Good, it's just the beginning of the school's calendar year you know.
DAVE: Yeah...
MALLORY: We'll love to register one more kid from the Seville's.
PRINCIPAL: That's good news, what's his name? (Looking at Rex)
REX: Rex!
MALLORY: Rex Seville...
PRINCIPAL: Ok. Grade?
MALLORY: 10.
PRINCIPAL: (Adjusts his glasses and looks at Rex) He looks older for that class...
MALLORY: Just put it that way.
PRINCIPAL: Ok! (Writing) He'll have to take a test in thirty minutes time but for now he should go refresh his memory.
MALLORY: Alright.© KelvinKelvyn
