We were both running, to and fro, throughout the Earth; how could we know? Was this the Last Day on Earth? There was some talk, but nothing ever panned out. Our Lord Zeus stood in the midst of Athena, Hera, Gaia and Poseidon.

"Ragnarok, the World Eater, is upon us again," Zeus stated somberly. "Now is the End of all Life on Earth, once again."

"But dear," Hera began. "Must it be so? This time it's the Humes who brings the Calamity, not Galactus."

Athena pointed her staff to Ra. "Look, Hera, Phoenix has already been raised. We cannot stop Her even as a combined Force. And we are not."

Hades took offense to her words. "What do you me? We're not united? What, because Ares and I won't bow to your whims, bend our knee and pay obeisance to your husband? How shallow can you get!?"

Hera just looked on in disgust, while Zeus walked over to Hades and slapped him. "You are the reason they've done this, you and Ares!" He lifted his voice, and thunders and lightenings quaked with every syllable. "If you'd stop meddling in their affairs, Ragnarok would not have come." But now it is, and nothing can be done to stop it!"

"So the Hell what," Ares replied. "I was sick of their refuse the moment Galactus allowed them to step foot on our land! I am grateful to have been a willing pawn to their destruction."

"You should all be on your hands and knees thanking us," Hades added.

Zeus, Hera, Poseidon and Athena walked away as Hades and Ares continued taunting them. "So what are we going to do?" Athena asked.

"It's only been 7 days, it's always 7 days. Then we are granted new birth by Galactus." Hera replied. "So when the Earth is destroyed in a few hours, we'll just wait for Galactus to renew the Earth as he always has before."

Zeus shook his head. "Even the patience of Galactus has limits." He raised his Triton and caused it to rain across the Earth. "This is the 7th generation. There's no guarantee that he will this time."

And as I listened to these despairing words from Atlantis, I fell down to my knees and wept, so too did Ekidu, and prayed for the mercy of Galactus. Ragnarok did indeed fall upon up all, and quite speedily. As Mankind launched their torpedo, the Sun engorged itself and became a blanket over the entire globe. It both melted the land, and boiled the seas. All Life was destroyed. And with one more starburst, the shockwave completely engulfed the entire Earth.

It began to rumble and churn, earthquakes in diverse places. Then slowly, piece by piece, chunks began to break loose and fly out from the core until little remained but the nickel center.

And in one gigantic burst, it too imploded forth with extreme velocity. Several large land pieces remained, floating in space. I was on one, along with Atlantis which is never destroyed.

The moon, having no orb to encircle, simply flew into space and became another moon for Jupiter.

But as for the further redeadings and imaginings of the Gods, are they not written in the annals of the Titans?
