Night Blinded - Episode 2a
One morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains of Ezra's room, casting a warm glow on the art supplies scattered around. Her room, a testament to her creative spirit, housed canvases of various sizes leaning against the walls. At the center of this organized chaos, Ezra diligently worked on her latest masterpiece: a painting of their beloved cat, Whiskers, a regal brown and white feline, engrossed in her breakfast.

"Mr. Gerald is going to love this," she murmured, her voice brimming with pride. Pausing to admire the blend of colors forming Whiskers's likeness, she added a touch of brown paint with precision. "Magic," she whispered, smiling as the painting neared completion.

Suddenly, Whiskers leaped onto the canvas, splattering paint everywhere and leaving paw prints on the carefully crafted image. "No, no, no! What have you done?!" Ezra cried in frustration. Whiskers, oblivious, licked her paws while Ezra stared at the ruined canvas.

Determined not to let this setback defeat her, Ezra searched for more supplies, realizing with a sinking heart that she had run out of cream paint. "That's strange," she muttered, "I thought I bought some weeks ago." Scanning her countless paintings, she acknowledged her dwindling stockpile due to her relentless creativity.

Ezra, dressed in her distinctive edgy style—light brown eyes, brown buzz cut, fitted black crop top, stylish jacket, black shorts, and high-quality leather boots—stepped out of her room, instructing Whiskers to be good. Tiptoeing down the hallway towards her twin sister Mira's room, she carefully avoided the creaky floorboards. As she quietly entered, she searched the nightstand for eye medication, her fingers brushing various objects.

"Looking for something?" Mira's voice cut through the darkness, making Ezra jump. "Oh my goodness, Mira, you scared me," she said, trying to steady her racing heart. Mira, with her ethereal beauty and white braided ponytail, narrowed her eyes. "You're not supposed to be here," she reminded Ezra.

Ezra dismissed their mother's rules with a wave. "I just wanted to check up on you," she said, pocketing the eye medication. Mira, sensing something amiss, warned Ezra about sneaking around. Ezra promised to remember and returned to her room, finding Whiskers napping on the ruined painting. "You've certainly added your touch to my work," she murmured, placing Whiskers on a cushion and considering a new plan.

Meanwhile, Camilla, pacing in Ginevra's room, declared her intention to run away from a dreaded ritual. Ginevra, alarmed, cautioned her about their mother's omniscient crystal ball. Despite the danger, Camilla was resolute in protecting her sister Shelly's soul from their mother's legacy quest.

Back in her room, Ezra faced more frustration as Whiskers had further wrecked her paintings. In a moment of desperation, she called Mr. Gerald, only to be dismissed as a crazy fan. Defeated, she returned to her room, contemplating her next move.

Later, a loud scream echoed through the house. Ezra rushed to Mira's room, finding her sisters gathered there. Pushing past them, she confronted the tense scene, aware that something significant had happened. Jess glared at her, the accusation clear: "Speak of the devil herself."
