misunderstanding
Katherine had come to the church on pastored for a couple of months. She was always well-dressed. She wore dreams, skirts, or pants. I did not know her well. She was pleasant. She carried herself well. She was qiet but friendly. I was glad she came to our church. I was pretty sure she was some kind of professional. I thought she worked in an office. Perhaps she was a manager. She used perfect English. Sohe was confident and not cocky.
One Sunday she came up to me." i was wondering if we could go out for coffee tonight and talk. "She said. " sure. "I said. " excellent. "She said. " do you want to ride with us or meet each other there?" i asked, "do you mind riding together?" She asked. "No that is fine," I said. 'Great" i said.
I thought she was expressing interest in me romantically. I thought it seemed to come out of nowhere. We were cordial nit never had deep conversations. I knew little to nothing about her.
I was not sure if we would be a good fit. I was a traditional independent fundamental baptist. I believe in families led by a man. I did believe a man should be server leader who follows Christ. Christ is the head of the home but he entrusts the family to the husband. The family is in his care.
She was a professional. I wanted someone willing to be a stay-at-home mom. My late wife stayed at home and raised our three kids before she was killed in a car accident. i was not sure she would be interested in the kind of life I want for a wife.
I did like her. I had no idea how she felt about all this. I would not know unless I asked her. I should have suspected that it was not a relationship that she wanted to discuss but that did not occur to me. I let my excitement get the best of me.
- I grew up in a Christian home. We attended note evangelical churches. We went to church as often as that was open. My dad sold insurance. My mom was a nurse. I was sheltered but not as sheltered as other Christian families. I watch television which many churches would disagree with. I listened to worldly music.
My parents were choosy about who I was friends with. my parents knew where I was at all times.
I wanted to be a psychologist al my life. I loved psychology. My dream never went away. I got good grades in high school. I went to Colorado Christian for free graduation. I went to a prominent university for my post-graduate.
