Peles Castle
The second location what you have to see it’s the Peles Castel, builded in between the years 1873 and 1914 at the initiative of King Carol I, as a result of his first official visit to Sinaia in August 1866. Later serving as the summer residence of the Kings of Romania.
The building is currently owned by the Royal Family of Romania, housing the Peles National Museum.
Peles Castle is today one of the most important buildings of historical type in Romania.
From an architectural point of view, this is considered a masterpiece of the German neo-Renaissance style, its courtyard combining Saxon elements with the German ones and whose interiors reflect the Baroque influence. Being considered one of the most important monuments of its kind in Europe during the second half of the 19th century.
After the death of King Carol I, the property was transferred to King Ferdinand, who in turn left the castle inherited from King Michael.
