Sleep Paralysis!!!
Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? Well, the ones who experienced it would know how it feels. It’s a horrific feeling: you wake up in the middle of the night and are fully aware of your surroundings – but you can’t move. You’re paralyzed. And as the seconds tick by, you become more and more frightened until you fall back asleep or slowly gain movement again. The incident that I'm gonna tell you today is my first ever experience of sleep paralysis.
I was a teenager at that time. I've spent the last week watching movies, playing video games and doing other fun stuff that I forgot I had my mid term exams two days after till my friend texted me to know whether I had prepared for it! The exam was scheduled on Monday! On the Sunday Night, I was busy studying that I didn't realise the time pass. As it was getting late at night, I felt very drowsy and my body ached because I was sitting on the wooden chair for the entire day. Due to this reason, I thought of lying in my bed and go through my flash cards one by one but as you know what happens always when you try to study in bed, I dozed off.
Then suddenly the environment around me was gradually fading away into darkness. There was no one around me, I started panicking and my body was sweating a lot. The only thing that I had was my phone. Using the help of my phone's flashlight, I started walking forward not knowing where would I even reach. It seemed to be a never-ending mile! But then I saw a door far away, I quickly started running hardly catching my breath! I could feel an eerie presence and knew something bad was about to happen!
When, I was about to reach the door, someone just grasped my hand!
I turned behind to see who it was, there was this lady who had really long black hair which covered her face partially. She was completely dressed in black and she had this really sinister grin on her face which was freaking me out. She was grabbing my wrist with her long-pointed nails.
She asked me in a spooky voice, "Why are you leaving too soon?!" My Heart was pounding so fast that each time she got closer to me, I feared that my death was nearing! I tried moving my body, my feet and my hands away from her but she was holding on to me too tight. That's it, I thought this is gonna be my end when all out of a sudden I was hearing a loud sound. BEEEEEEEEP!!! BEEEEEP!BEEEEP! Slowly I started coming back to my senses.
The lady while getting pulled into darkness, creamed out in rage saying that she'll be back again for me.
After a while, I opened my eyes. I was able to move my body again! It was my alarm clock. I looked at the time which said 12.05! My body was drenched in sweat, her words were still echoing in my head! And that eerie smile of hers was recurring in my head! What did she mean that she'll come for me again?!
This incident really crept me out that I was too afraid to sleep at nightfor nearly 3 weeks fearing that the lady I saw that night would come in in search of me in my dreams! But to this day, her words still Echoes in my head when I lay down to sleep at night!!!
