Omens/Amens
It started with a dead rabbit on the lawn. The guts of the poor creature spewed out over the lush grass, and the crows fighting for food. Dragging intestines out like long elongated worms that refused to vacate their home. But the sky was so calming, pinks and reds with light fluffy cloud that drifted by on a strong breeze, candyfloss wound on a stick getting only bigger.

There was a starling curiously inanimate, its black body rigid, the iridescent feathers shining brightly as the soft bright rays stroke it. Not even the sun could breathe fresh life into the poor thing, it lay rigid, still. The beak was half open and it had an expression of fright in its glassy eyes, or was this only imagination? Curious, the day was to reveal many such unaccountable wonders.

Funny what one notices when your eye is searching for it, seeing...
