My horrible experience with an abusive Upwork client
Guys, we all know about the famous freelancing platform Upwork. Some days ago, I sent a proposal to client who was looking for a writer for his deal and coupon website. After my proposal, he messaged me and told me, wow, you already look familiar with the affiliate world. I like your reviews.
I want to hire you bla bla bla. I researched the client history and he seemed like a real client. So, I agreed to the work. But he was too late to reply and keep giving me writing jobs to see I am worthy or not. You can see in one message, he told my work is good. Then another message, he says he wants deal and coupon content and I give him product reviews. Well, I saw his type of content.
No one will get attracted to them and buy products from his blog. The language he wrote in his content is so difficult to read that anyone will cry. Still, I agreed to work for his meaningless content because it was my first job on Upwork. At first, he was pleased with my work that gave me a lot of headaches to get done. Then he gave me access to WordPress to publish my work. I was having headaches writing his meaningless contents, still I wrote the first content.
Then he keeps telling me to improve unnecessary things like before price, last price etc. The way he was telling me to improve, it felt like it will take thousand years to get things done. He will never satisfied with my content. He was also telling me to write 30 content in a day, which sound like quite superficial and impossible. I thought in myself if only one content took 8 hours of my day, how will I do the 30 content in one day? I can't do such meaningless jobs with so much exhaustion.
Also, that client sounded like a scammer, though he didn't show any strong sign. I got irritated with the project and decided to cancel the contract. So, I simply told him I am cancelling contract. Then he started to show me his real face. He started to shame my country people and tell people from these countries behave like this. Obviously, other people saw his true face too, that's why they quit. He started to call me a thief, a loser, someone who tries to steal his data from the blog.
Seriously, I don't want to do your work, so I quitted. His job is to end the contract instead of calling me loser and etc. Everyone left his job because they knew what meaningless scamming he was up to. He has nothing to do and I don't know what the hell he is going to do with a fake blog improving by the freelancers. This person simply don't have any self respect and is like a lower kind of animal who doesn't respect other people's boundaries.
Can you believe what a scam he is. First he created a blog that doesn't work, then he use freelancers to keep improving it non-stop for no reason. The purpose of this client is waste the valuable life and use amazing and hard working people to make them work llike donkeys. He thinks just because I signed a contract with him which is fake like him, I am his slave and have to keep my word.
Keep my word? Seriously? We are professionals and I never gave this loser and scammer any word to work for him. My mistake was I politely told him I am ending the contract, I should have blocked him right away after realizing what a scammer and low class he was. Then he told me he will give me a horrible feedback, so that no one will hire me in the future. Seriously? He can only give me feedback after payment, which he is never going to do.
Then he says, Upwork should remove people like you. It's not like that. Shitty low class gross animals shouldn't exist on earth who wastes the time of people like this. He says I wasted a lot of his time, when I was the one who kept working like a donkey with headaches. I am telling you all this to show his true face, so that you guys can be careful next time from this kind of scammers who is difficult to recognize.
