A text
One day, I randomly received a text “Hi, how are you doing, want to invest - Rhea". I didn't open it, I wanted to pretend as if didn't see it.
It was an old friend from school, now an marketing manager in a start-up. I didn't want to invest or even talk to her. For matter of fact she never contacted me for years, probably we hadn't talked for ten years. I know all about her through whats app group, she keeps sending information about her company. I wondered why did she want to talk to me. Being an introvert by nature, I find my little comfort zone and ideas very ideal to be in. Probablyyou would call it a filthy little cage but still best for me. I prefer not to socialize more, talking is not my cup of tea, maybe my weakness.Nevertheless I had to make a decision and reply, probably I just felt compelled to do it. So I packed all the possible ideas and went aboard the ship of prediction to sail through the sea of doubt. I went through all possibilities, one, that her c ompany isn't doing well and she wants a bate to sell her stuff, like a tiger waits for a bate to eat it up. Or maybe, she wants me stake some shares in her company which is in loss, you see she is good inmarketing, it would be like one leads the rabbit right into the cage by giving it carrots. Or maybe that she wants to involve me in some kind of talk that would make me want to invest to have something called good status, locking me up with ideas, like a caged crow and one telling it, if it sings melodiously it will be let free, it knows it is not possible but still it will try. With all possibilities exploding in my mind, I decided to text her before she would call. Therefore I took my phone, went to the chats opened her text, didn't read it but directly scrolled down and typed"I am very busy, maybe sometime later" and I clicked on send. I felt relived but to my surprise the message didn't go! It said, "can't send messages”. I was confused. I scrolled up an saw that it was some spam!!!........it said...... " Hi, how are you doing, want to invest - Rhea is my name - contact me on 7****. You can get the best deals here".
I was startled for a while and then laughed a lot, it was my mind doing all the trick. At the end, I quit thinking so much, as I felt guilty to be so skeptical about Rhea , I called her up and had a hearty talk.
