Small Sprouts
The metaphor of us being seeds trying to sprout is very accurate. We’re basically unknown seeds trapped inside a pot of soil. We’re buried in darkness and it feels suffocating, so we try to get out. However, we can’t when we’re not ready. Our future is us no longer surrounded by darkness and exposed to fresh air, alongside the world full of billions of more sprouts. We as seeds can imagine what we’ll grow up to be, but we won’t actually know until we get there. Sometimes we feel like we won’t be anything and that we’ll forever be curled up under a heavy layer of self doubt and disappointment, when really we should be focusing on pushing ourselves out. But we can’t do it alone, we need help from the outside. And while some give up early and aren’t able to sprout, some still try to have hope because they want a chance to. And in the end, after long, grueling years of suffering, we end up as a beautiful part of nature. Yet we will still get trampled on, ripped out of the ground, burned, killed, and destroyed by the outside world and its inhabitants.
