UNESCO ( United nations educational scientific and cultural organisation) founded in 1945& its headquartered in Paris governs 'World Teacher's day' every year.
World Teacher's day is observed on 5th October whereas National Teacher's Day is observed on 5th September and celebrated since 1962 to commemorate memory of Radhakrishnan who was vice chancellor of Andhra university and got postgraduation degree in philosophy. He got Bharat ratna in 1954 and German Medal in 1961.
