The Dream
#WritcoStoryPrompt30
For a timeless moment, he was suspended within the confines of his car. Then gravity took over with a force that sent the vehicle hurtling down the face of the ravine.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." His broken apology flew down with the blood spewing from his lips...

"I forgive you" is all I managed to get out before we crashed. The ravine full of overgrowns weeds and thorns.

Waking up shaking and traumatized by what I had just witnessed put my body in a sieze. I cried uncontrollably but no tears fell. I was stunned, motionless. All I could think about was him. How his eyes looked deep into my soul. His lips drippomg blood. The cut on his head. The oozing cimson that soaked his shirt and pants.

His eyes fighting back tears. Knowing we was lovers who could never be together. Knowing life had different plans for us. Knowing we was meant to be but never to cross that line.

I knew calling him was out of the question. But maybe just this once was okay? I had to know if he was okay. I needed to feelcthe comfort of his voice. I looked at my clock. "Damn." i whispered. its 2:30 in the morning. He would be asleep. I still tried.
"You have reached the voicemail box of Carson Willy." Just a few words Stacy.
"Carson. it's...it's Stacy. I know we have came to an understanding. I just had the most terrible dream, and I know its late, but are....are you okay? I just need to know if you are okay."

I hung up the phone and laid in bed hoping for a call back to just hear his voice.

Sleep succumbed me. And I awoke the next morning to a horrible message.
