Chapter 12 continued:
"Feeling better?" he questions, shivering a bit when your fingers touch. A gesture unnoticed by you, but not missed by the kitten besides you, who warningly growls at him. The red haired teen looks at him, slightly surprised, but mostly suspicious. It reminds him to much of a certain blue haired enigma, which they haven't heard from since you arrived. Glaring back at the kitten he turns to look at the current match on the screen.
It was a problem, a huge problem. Kai had been certain that the tournament was all he needed, but obviously he was wrong as he was still stuck in his kitten form. Another issue was Tala's increasing attention to you. For some reason he really didn't like that. Blaming it on a kittens possessiveness of its owner, which in return made him more irritated because it meant he was growing more and more kitten behaviour. Like his increasing desire to get cuddled and patted by you. He needed to figure out who to return to normal before he went completely cat. The biggest problem was still your latest vision. If Kai's suspicions was right and this was all about Black DRanzer returning, then he had to figure out what happened to it after the Russian tournament. And he was going to. So while you were talking about your next match with the rest of the team, he snuk out to find the BBA office to see what he could dig up.
CHAPTER 13: Nightmare
Getting in to the BBA office had proven to be more difficult than Kai had expected. Not because of security, but because he couldn't open any of the doors on his own. He was too small for the sensors on the sliding doors, and couldn't reach the handles on the regular once. So he had to wait for people to walk by to move around. Eventually he reached Mr. Dickensen's office and computer. Luckily his paws were small enough to use the keyboard. It didn't go fast, but in the end he found the right files and opened them. Cracking the password was simple after those summers with Tala. Reading through the files Kai felt his worry and anger grow.
"This is… why didn't they inform us about this?!" someone was at the door. Quickly exiting the folder, the kitten hid under the desk as two men entered the room.
"The tournament is moving along as predicted sir. Like you requested we're keeping an extra eye on the Shadow Kings."
"Good. What about the other matter?"
"Still no clues I'm afraid, since the incident at the research senter we found no leads at all."
"I see. Sett all people we can spare on the case, we need to retrieve that item as soon as possible."
"Yes sir."
The man moved to the door to leave as Mr.D sat down by his desk. Sensing his opportunity Kai swiftly snuck out from his hiding place and followed the man out, returning to the hotel.
People were screaming. In pain. In fear. Calling for their friends and colleags true the caos. Everything was burning. Even the concrete walls seemed too melt under the extreme heat. You could feel it on your skin. It felt like your very flesh was melting.
"Doctor we have to go!"
"No. We cannot let them have it!"
"It will be gone in the fire and so will we if we don't go!"
"Fool, a fire won't destroy it. We have to secure it."

The fire exploded around you and you heard those voices scream in pain. Were they hit? A laugh. A cruel and evil laugh.
"What idiots, thinking they could stop us, right?" the young male talking, you've heard it before, where?
"Never mind, grab the bag and research data. And let's go." A cold, calculating voice ordered, and once again you felt you had heard it before, but where?

"Cornelia! What's wrong? Are you hurt?" you're in Tala's arms before you can blink. He holds tightly onto your shoulders as he checks you for injuries. Bryan and Spencer are already searching the room for intruders, checking the door and windows. You can't talk, you're so scared you're shaking.
