After everything she said I still couldn't defend myself from the onslaught of questions and accusations. I pleaded with myself to fix this but my mind wouldn't work and in the end, I had to watch her walk away. When watching movies about double lives it seemed easier for them to make the harder choices. They always knew what they wanted even after having to choose between one life or the other. If my actions didn't betray her could I have spoken the truth without stumbling in my mind. With her already walking away from me the images of last night seem to flicker and haunt me still. She was willing to walk next to me even after knowing what I do. A life she shouldn't be a part of and yet for me, she was willing. So why did that night happen at all.
After Jadith sent the address that left me to get a ride fast enough to get there. Walking several blocks from this place a stranger was just getting ready to park her jeep. After I approached with a request and gave the address she refused me plainly, but flashing three hundred bucks would change most minds. Situations like this would have never happened before because I could have just stolen something. Catherine has a strange influence on me while it's not unpleasant, just different. My driver was tense which is expected but I have no words to offer her since we won't meet after this I believed. It didn't take her long to bring me to the location, leaving me to hurry inside.
" You can head off now, thanks."
" Three hundred bucks is too much, I'll take you back just hurry up."
This place was dangerous and I didn't want to drag her into anything but I didn't try to persuade her. Instead, I walked towards the house with warning bells going off that I tried to ignore. This could become a volatile situation so no hostility can be shown leaving me with words.
" Halt"
The waiting guards stopped me from moving any further and the guns encouraged that. Luckily Loraine was waiting for me which should have made things quicker.
" Return Haddy, and we can forget this whole thing."
" Honestly I had no intentions of harming her. Apparently, she knows my brother, intimately well. So she's not my captive anymore, come on let's talk."
