About गुरूपौर्णिमा
Guru Purnima as the name suggests is the day dedicated to our teachers and gurus. The day is celebrated by expressing gratitude and love for our teachers. This year Guru Purnima will be celebrated on 5th July
Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadha. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth ceremony of Ved Vyasa, who is the author of the holy book Mahabharata.
The word guru comes from the two Sanskrit words ‘gu’+’ru’. Gu' means ignorance or darkness and 'ru' means the removal of darkness. Gurus are named so because they remove the darkness from our lives by teaching us the right things and showing us the right path. Many people also believe that on this day, Gautam Buddha gave his firth sermon in Uttar Pradesh.
🙏 HAPPY गुरूपौर्णिमा🙏
