Are periods a sign of impurity?
Everytime I get my periods, this question comes in my mind that does this period makes me impure?
if yes then why and if not then how?
I read so many articles and went through so many videos on internet and I noticed that many people consider it as a sign of impurity and they don't wanna talk about it.
I am in D.A.V school so there at the end of the weekend Hawan is performed. and I noticed that when I or many girls like me had periods then we didn't do "Hawan" because only pure and clean soul can worship God that way. see I don't know if God gave this as a curse or a blessing but if he did then why he'd differentiate that way. our male teachers used to ask that why we are not involved in this then we had to make excuses like we at chicken last night and didn't wash our hair or something else. every boy used to come and ask frequently as if we could say that word..."periods" so that they could go and make fun of us in front of their friends.
I remember an incident when I was in school and we had a group project on making a modal of human excretory system. we made it and it was displayed on the display board of our class. but the next day when we went to school, someone had drew red droplets coming out of the modal of the urinary bladder. one of my friends told me that and it was so weird. every boy of our class was making fun of it and where talking while looking at us. It was so embarrassing.
I remember another incident when one of my friends had her uniform stained with blood, boys were laughing at her pointing towards that. I can't imagine how embarrassed she might have felt.
one day, when I was coming home in school bus and I had my uniform stained red, people on the road were all looking at me like I've committed a serious crime or am a serial killer or something. some of them were even laughing. I had no idea what was going on. I thought I had something funny on my face but when I reached home I realized that hell...my dress was all red...oh God!
I'm just a kid and may be I don't understand much now but something I would like to say and that is if periods are just impure blood then "WE ARE THE PLANTS OF AN IMPURE SEED".
that blood coming out of our vagina is able to give new lives so how can something that gives new life to someone is pity?
and if it is then every person on this planet (7 billion people) should be considered impure.
This should be irradicated from our society and people must be educated more on these serious topic. it is not a joke and notopic of fun. no one knows from what kind of pain someone is going through.
That life giving "blood" is the purest thing and it is a blessing.
