THE EARTH'S EMBRACE by Bhengu SS

I wait quietly, still as stone,
Like a seed, a feather, a petal grown.
The earth is hungry, ready to take,
To embrace, fill, and never break.

I rest here, my body both home and grave,
A place to rest, to bloom, to save.
The soil rises, a life-giving veil,
A cover, a shroud, to end the strife.
I lie here, my essence fading away,
Green blankets spread, memories stay.
The earth calls, it sings, it waits,
As I return, in life's endless states.

O Earth, O Mother, so kind and near,
Cradle me, embrace me, without fear.
No longer a fighter, but at peace,
I wait, I listen, and find my release.
