In twilight's hush, where candles sway,
A sacred refuge beckons, come what may,
Tears fall like autumn's gentle rain,
Leaving no stain, only heartache's refrain,
With soul laid bare, I confess my past,
Unshackle the weights that forever last,
Every sorrow, every grief, every fear,
Every secret, every doubt, every tear,
At the altar of mercy, I lay my load,
And find solace in the silence bestowed,
In pews of penance, where hearts are made new,
I find peace and grace forever shining through.
