MEDUSA'S VEIL by Bhengu SS
I smile, but it's a mask I wear,
To hide the scars that no one can bear,
For beneath this facade, there lies,
A secret pain, behind Medusa's eyes.
The weight of this curse, too heavy to bear,
For I was a woman, once so fair,
Punished, cursed, for a sin not mine,
Turned into a monster, for all time,
Yet, these scars run deep, beyond the skin,
Emotional wounds, where love once dwelled within,
A heart so shattered, my soul, so frail,
But I will not surrender,
To the curse, to the pain,
For I am Medusa, more than a name,
A woman, strong, with scars that proclaim.
In pain, I find strength, in darkness, light,
Facing demons, through the endless night.
