At times choosing darkness (comforting lies) may feel safer since it will protect you from suffering, uncertainty, or fear. It gives you short-term comfort by letting you live in a cocoon of blissful ignorance. However, this gloom may trap you, hindering development or resolution. No matter how consoling they may seem, lies frequently fall apart with time, leaving behind more difficult-to-heal wounds. However, the stark truth, or glaring light, can be uncomfortable and overwhelming, making you face things you'd like to ignore. But once the truth is confronted, it becomes clear. It may seem intolerable at first, but it presents the chance for liberation, recovery, and real life. Essentially, darkness calms but blinds; light burns but illuminates.
