That was a friend from here who has settled abroad for over a decade or two...
Have you ever remembered a favorite food item or thing or place from your past? They were the best, weren't they?
Have you had that same food or thing or revisited that place recently?
Did you get that same enjoyment? Or was something 'missing'?
I hold that what we are missing is the 'Flavour of Nostalgia'! That elusive 'Memory Addition', which was maybe the carefree days OR the friends we were with OR maybe even the realisation that we can't get it back!!
While we feel nostalgic about it and in a way sad that we don't get that enjoyment, could we stop moping and realise that we have had such wonderful times in our lives, which we hold so dear and miss today?
...And can we instead concentrate on creating more such memories which will carry us through the rest of our lives?
