In the twilight of years,
where time quietly fades,
many a spring’s blossom
has bowed and decayed;
yet here, within the steady
halls of thought,
the mind, unyielding,
frays not, nor is it fraught.
still, in this late day’s
amber light,i stand,
awaiting the moon’s rise
over shadowed land.
when will she drift
through the starlit gate,
her silvery sheen cool,
her poise sedate?
in her tranquil glow,
desires unfold,
longing for brief moments
in her fold,
to lose myself in her
serene,pale light,
a respite in the deep
bosom of night.
yes, i yearn for
that awaited moon,
whose visit, fleeting,
ends all too soon;
her quiet beauty,
balm to the eyes,
a reverie that in this
old heart lies.
