Callused Corners
Hope hanging by a thread,
As callused corners bleed redemption,
Desire drowning in valor's bed,
O bitter flesh you betray my intention:
For what cause do you beguile,
Breathing life into ambition,
Professing to reconcile,
Then prodding the sore at my ascension?
For cruel derision runs unbridled,
Still I'm no stranger to discontentment,
Sent once again into exile,
As such cognizance demands repentance.
