I saw a star cry
Last night.... I think I saw a star cry.
It was hard to be certain from where I stood.
Last night... I saw a twinkle in the night sky,
In the place where all her feelings stood
Last night... I think I heard a whisper.
It was hard to make out what may have been said.
Last night... I knew I missed her,
She's found a better place to finally rest.
Last night.... I swear I could smell it,
The fragrance she'd wear to church.
Last night... I think for the first time,
I could finally know her hurt.
Last night... I got taste of it,
I followed her recipe to the t.
Last night...I wrote her a letter,
But, its too late for her to read.
Last night.. I think I saw a star cry.
But maybe it was me.
Last night... I said my goodbye,
But she couldn't say bye to me.
