Leaves
Nothing but leaves
fresh shoot of fleshy green
the master promise the, the master gives
everything is put in place oder of right
earth, H²O, CO² and sunlight
yet some choose to accommodate germs
that makes them fall of their stems

Nothing but leaves
the spirit greaves over a wasted life
wishing that you would be my wife
sin committed while conscience slept
promises made but never kept
hatred, battle and worthless strife
cuts deep into the soul like a sharp knife

Nothing but leaves
one day, all will fall from our solid tree
what we own and what we gave
shade or food, did we provide for thee
life of all form did try to save
helpless on the ground so far below
we were high up not too long ago

Nothing but leaves
bitten or withered leaves
shall we meet our master so
knowing our leaves won't glow
the master created our perfect root
disbelief diveted us from the truth
