Reflecting on the person I've become
I see it now

Revealed only to those who truly know
That I don't want to get too close
Those words were clear enough
But we all have our own versions of truth
Seeking out pretty lies
Simply because it cuts less
Or maybe because we feel it later

What do we yearn for?
