A narrow pathway
Between what was
and what could've been
An arid thorn-infested road
the broken shards of trust
Slicing through the soles of the heart
A pale aprrehensive face
ripe and juicy with bitter-sweet tears
a straying heart
Void of emotion
Wandering in a field of regret and pain
a ship without a campus
amidst a violent storm

Constant melancholic steps
a handful of wishful flowers
to a bleak graveyard of memories
watery eyes read the serene epitaph
'Then now and no more'
