Tenacious Illumination
Even the luminance provided by the Sun is held in
questionably sacred regard; a
deity chosen by men that
saw fear as an emotion to cover up and discard
There is a certain amount of peace to be found
when one has decidely chosen to face and
embrace the
illusions stitched into the blanket of night
Returning stronger and
easily disposing of the shadows that displaced
the ideas that employed duty as
as selfish guard in reality's place
I pity the Sun in a way
crushed under the prayers of sorrow
remaining ceaselessly bound to an ideal tomorrow
Empowered with gifts of duty and light
forever burdened by humanity's ideas
and existential fright
