I love poetry.
it is my art and how I tell my story
Through poetry, I have seen the world's hidden beauty.
the words of which I write have become my everything.
they have formed and consumed the entirety of my being.
I pour out my heart and blood into every line
and write the syllables carefully each time.
to me, every single letter
is something that I greatly treasure.
So I love poetry
for it is my art and how I tell my story.

but I loved you more than poetry
more than the words I wrote in distress,
you pulled me together when I was a mess.
I loved you more than the lines and the rhymes
that you listened to every single time.
poetry became my world and all I thought of
but every time I write, I only picture your love.

poetry was my heart and soul, my everything
but I have it all up for you even if to you I was nothing,
because I loved you more than poetry
