I'm sorry that I left,
forgive me for doing so without a word.
Abandoned, I can imagine how it felt,
and how difficult it was burdens me.
Look, I know of love and what it does,
attachment and that portion of you it owns
and I thought of the end of us
and I couldn't stand up to face it.
I thought of me, but moreso you,
thought of the dreams you had;
the things you intended to achieve
and I knew I'd be the one between you and them.
So I saw myself outta that door
cause the best is what I wanted for you.
Though that may label me a coward,
I couldn't bear with you crying
that I was the reason your tears fell,
I couldn't be that and so I left.
I left to go get pieces of me I lost,
perhaps rebuild myself to my best
a version of me best best for you.
I'd be gone,not for long, I can't promise
nor can I ask you to wait.
