Oh, the twinkle in the sky grew dimmer,
On this curious, capricious day.
As I woke with a start, quite slimmer,
For it was the last of its kind, the Earth's final play.

With a yawn and a stretch and a giggle so cheery,
I stepped out to greet the dawn so queer,
The trees whispered secrets, the birds sang with glee,
"Today's the last, so live it free!"

In a world gone topsy-turvy,
Where the rivers flowed with jelly and custard,
I knew I had to be very, very curvy,
To navigate the streets that were marshmallow-tardy.

The sun peeked out from behind a cloud,
With a wink and a nudge, it whispered so loud,
"There's no time for a frown, no room for despair,
Just frolic and laugh, show you care!"

The people around me, once so solemn and serious,
Now cavorted with creatures so whimsical and delirious.
They danced with the ants, they sang with the bees,
In the meadow of bliss, their laughter was eerie.

I saw Mr. Stone, the grumpy old bloke,
Riding a unicycle, juggling a joke,
Miss Prim with her petticoats flying high,
Doing the can-can with a butterfly tie.

The animals frolicked, the fish took a leap,
The cows played jazz on their udders so deep.
The cats and the dogs formed a band,
