ONE QUESTION I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO ASK
One question I’ve always wanted to ask
Why did you create doubts?

Ladies and gentlemen,
This is a faithful submission but unanswered
Like a bouquet of flowers attracted to insects
I fell in love and stood in love
Like vows compulsory on the alter
Every opportunity was I love you; I uttered
My name is who I am today
I was born from a brain that lived in the heart
And a heart that lived in the eyes
Standing on this pulpit and asking
Why did you create doubts?

Love! Love was refreshing;
When we sat alone quietly, looking at each other,
Counting the speed of each other’s breath
Love was educational;
When we both argue about who love most
It was religious when no one speak of
Each other’s weaknesses on weekends
Our presence was like a pendant wrap over the neck,
Like a mother and his unborn baby
Our love was emotional

Ladies and gentlemen,
May I present you Kofi Nelson; my male mannequin
And ask him why he created doubts;

I cannot say I was right through out Kofi
But you knew very well how my every wrong
Comes with I’m sorry
You knew very well how I advocated for peace,
And how I fear breakups
You knew how weak I become when I hear brainstorming!

We use to sit in a dark room
Wearing a white T-shirt with these quote written
“Silence and Yoga”; you loved what I loved
You changed the perfume I loved most on you
You changed your style of dressing
From T-shirt and Shorts to Smock and Jeans
Was she a northerner?

You complained of everything I do
You gave excuses to everything you failed to do
“Priscy Cousin”, one of your contact numbers
Sent you “I love you!!”

The next day there was a lock on your phone
Was she really your cousin?
Why! Why did you feed me with doubts?
I did not walk away all I wanted was to ask
Why did you create doubts?
