When I'm gone
Don't give me a gravestone
Give me a garden bench
where I'll sit watching the sunset.

Don't put flowers
that will fade.
Plant a bushy rose
that will bloom every year.

Don't engrave
that I was a loving mom,
Make sure our kids don't forget
how much we love them.

Don't say you'll love me forever.
Just keep loving our children
and yourself as much as I did.

Don't hide yourself from the world.
Hold onto life and love
like it's the greatest adventure.

Don't cry too much in my absence.
Cherish our memories
and the life we built together.

When I'm gone,
