Dawn, don't forget me...
Dawn, don't forget me and let me shrivel although I am very little I can't stand the fact that I'm turning brittle,
Neglected, rejected, invisible,
To be discarded is never a good feeling.
What is eternity if I can't have beauty,
I'd willingly go under the knife just to adjust reality.

You, the goddess who loved the mortal Tithonus,
Bestowed him immortality, cared for his safety
But unwittingly, forgot the youth he was supposed to carry,
Thus, he rotted while he lived in perpetuity.

This, I recount to remind thee -
Eos, deliverer of light, don't forget me.
Preserve me,
Dip me in honey,
Even cryogenically;
Don't let the brutality of time take away my vitality,
I wake up and lament the body I'm contained in,
Not a day goes by I worry about the emptiness in me,
I pity the person I see in the mirror - I feel terror,
So I color what's used to be black, now white
Straighten the creases on his table, shining bright.

I know it wouldn't make me completely happy
But at least I like the person I see;
The best of me is what they will remember -
They remember Marilyn not Norma Jeane Baker,
Ideals forever sanitized,
The great beauties immortalized:
Antinoös, John Keats,
Simonetta Vespucci,
Carole Lombard,
Lady Di and Sharon Tate,
James Dean and Arthur Rimbaud.
Behold the divines!
They are all enshrined -
Their legacy will echo through time.

Dawn, don't forget me and let me go for I am getting old I don't want to own the body that I'm taking hold of,
Impatient, duller, lifeless,
Help me say "no" to senescence's kiss,
As if I'm in Batoni's masterpiece.
I'll take youth and beauty over anything,
To be forgotten is never a good feeling.

Room Half Empty

Fear of the Cross
Mama, Papa is wounded!
The day he fell silent
Letters from Theo
There's something about the dark - I feel safe
Dawn, don't forget me...
Our room has two doors
Blue World
