What if you had respected my dignity,
And done nothing to hurt me?
What would have happened
If everything went the other way?
Where would we be now?

Would we still be in love,
Or would you have broken my heart again?
It still hurts, somewhere deep,
Maybe I’m not fully healed.
But is there even such a thing
As being fully healed?

I hate it, but I miss you.
Maybe I’ll never heal from you.
Perhaps the space you left in my heart
Will always be yours.
Why did you ruin our love,
Just as it was beginning to bloom?
